  • The article examines the challenges of population control and food production which the author feels should be addressed in tandem. According to the author, the rising demand for food has had a negative environmental impact. He cites a report in the September 24, 2009 issue of "Nature," by researcher Johan Rockström and colleagues defining safe limits of human activity and suggests that population rise and the demand for meat production is exhausting those limits.
