The article discusses how small relatives, such as Raptorex kriegsteini, of the dinosaur Tyrannosaurus rex are forcing paleontologists to rethink the evolution of the T. rex. Paleontologists have established a theory about the T. rex's evolution from smaller ancestors which was challenged by findings of smaller specimens with different features. An overview of a report in the October 16, 2009 issue of "Science," by researcher Paul C. Serano and colleagues regarding R. kriegsteini, is presented. INSET: Ardi Unveiled..
