  • The article discusses a technique that images the electron orbital of individual atoms. Topics include an overview of research by scientist Igor Mikhailovskij and colleagues in the October issue of "Physical Review B," who imaged the shape of orbitals in carbon (C) atoms by using an improved field-emission microscopy technique.
