  • The article discusses the efforts to begin sequestering carbon dioxide from U.S. power plants by injecting it into geologic formations beneath the power plants. Topics include an overview of the Mountaineer power plant in West Virgina that uses chilled ammonia scrubbers to capture carbon dioxide from coal burning for storage underground, statistics on the percentage of electricity that is generated using coal, and details on how the underground storage is carried out.
