  • The article discusses the lack of recycling by the U.S. airline industry. Topics include statistics related to the amount of recyclable material, including aluminum cans, newspapers, and bottles, that the airline industry discards every year, the various factors that have discouraged airlines and airports from recycling, such as an unwillingness to change infrastructure to accommodate recyclable materials, and an overview of a cost-reducing recycling method called commingled recycling.
