  • The article discusses the conflict between conservationists such as the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) and indigenous people. Topics include how the efforts by environmentalists to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of an industrialized civilization, such as extraction of oil, are impacting indigenous people from various countries, including Africa and South America, and an overview the important ecological role indigenous people play.
