  • In this article the author discusses aspects of Malaria control including the use of anti-mosquito bed nets as an example of targeted aid. He acknowledges the difficulty in providing financial support to help the poor meet their basic needs and discusses in-depth how experiments and real life can resolve the debate regarding mass free distribution versus market sale discounts. He uses the distribution of long- lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) in Africa to illustrate his point.
