The article reports that in a multigenerational gathering, 27 video makers and conceptual artists confronted the question of institutional control, as well as a range of social ills. Many of the artists, especially those from Eastern Europe, have never been seen in Miami and the issues raised in their high-concept pieces are rarely addressed in this different social and political climate. The curatorial framework needed explanation to make the show accessible, and yet the ponderously academic catalogue.
