  • This article discusses the financial conditions of the market for modern artwork during the financial crises of 2008. The poor sales conditions at London, England auctions at Sotheby's, Christie's, and Phillips de Pury & Co. are noted. The impact of the recession on the sale of works by Andy Warhol, Lucian Freud, and Takashi Murakami is described.
