    El artículo indaga acerca de las representaciones históricas del indígena de los Andes, desde la producción de fotógrafos radicados en Argentina. Se indaga en las invisibilidades e intervalos de aparición y de visibilidad del indígena, atendiendo a la fotografía en tanto acto pero también performatividad. Desde el imaginario del indígena como "reliquia" que se observa en apariciones de las décadas de 1930-1940, se analiza el modo en que esa "imagen-archivo" persiste a lo largo de gran parte del siglo XX e incluso en la contemporaneidad, atendiendo tanto a su producción como circulación.

    The article aims to inquire into historical representations of the indigenous people of the Andes, from the production ofphotogra-phers who lived in Argentina. It explores the invisibilities and the emergence of interludes of visibility, considering photography as an act but also performativity. Beggining with the imaginary of the indigenous as a "relic" in the decades of 1930-1940, we analyzes the way of that "file-image" persists throughout the twentieth century and even in contemporary. And that attend both to their production and circulation
