    El título “De cursu publico angariis et parangariis” está presente tanto en el Codex Theodosianus (en adelante, CTh) como en el Codex Iustinianus (en adelante, CI), con idéntico nombre, pero diferente contenido. El CI cuenta sólo con la mitad de las constituciones del CTh, veinte procedentes del CTh, aunque modificadas, a veces profundamente; y otras tres posteriores al CTh. Ninguna de las constituciones del CI son anteriores a Constantino, como sucede, por ejemplo, en el CI II,3 y 4. Como se verá, los cambios de la institución del cursus publicus responden a los cambios políticos y administrativos de cada momento histórico. En consecuencia, la institución del tiempo anterior de Constantino no era ya aquélla existente en época de Justiniano.

    The title "De cursu publico angariis et parangariis” is present both in the Codex Theodosianus (hereafter, Cth), and in the Codex Iustinianus (hereaftere, CI), with the same name, but different content. The CI has only half of the Constitutions of the CTh: twenty constitutions come from the CTh, even if modified, sometimes profoundly; and three others are later than the Cth.

    None of the constitutions of the CI is dated before Constantine, like, for example, among many others, CI II, 3 and 4. As it will be seen, the changes in the institute of cursus publicus respond to the political and administrative changes of each historical moment. Consequently, the institute at the time before Constantine had different characteristics from those of the institute that existed in the days of Iustinianus.
