    Este artículo pretende ilustrar los principales hitos en la carrera de Pablo IV, desde su participación juvenil en la reforma de las ordenaciones sacerdotales hasta la institución de la Inquisición y su pontificado. El objetivo del ensayo es mostrar el perfil ideológico de su visión sobre la iglesia, basado en el autoritarismo y la teocracia. La segunda sección del artículo se centra en la colaboración de Pablo IV con las órdenes religiosas, como los teatinos o dominicos, con quienes construyó una sólida relación.

    This essay intends to illustrate the principal landmarks in the career of Paul IV, from his youthful participation in the reformation of priestly ordinations to the institution of the Inquisition and on to the Pontificate late in life. The goal of the essay is to show how ideological his ecclesiastical approach was, his ideas based on authoritarianism and theocracy. The second section of the essay focuses on Paul IV collaboration with religious orders, such as the Theatines and the Dominicans, with whom he built a strong relationship.
