    En el present article s’analitza la protecció de l’expressió lingüística valenciana/catalana de l’àrea oriental dels municipis murcians de Favanella, Iecla i Jumella (l’àmbit del Carxe) en el marc de la Carta europea de les llengües regionals o minoritàries, a partir del seu tractament en els informes de supervisió del compliment d’aquest tractat pel Consell d’Europa. En segon lloc, s’examinen altres normatives internacionals i estatals que poden fonamentar també aquesta acció de protecció. En els darrers apartats s’aprofundeix en els instruments jurídics i administratius que empra la Comunitat Valenciana per vehicular el suport al valencià parlat a la zona del Carxe, així com certs debats i dificultats que han trobat aquestes iniciatives.

    This article analyses the protection of the Valencian/Catalan linguistic expression in the eastern area of the Murcian municipalities of Abanilla, Yecla and Jumilla (the area of Carxe) in the framework of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, based on its treatment in the monitoring reports of compliance with this treaty by the Council of Europe. Secondly, other international and state regulations that can also back this protection action are examined. In the last sections, we delve into the legal and administrative instruments used by the Valencian Community to support the Valencian language spoken in the Carxe area, as well as certain debates and difficulties that have been found in these initiatives.
