La traducción entre sistemas semióticos, también conocida como traducción intersemiótica, tuvo en Jakobson (1979) a su investigador principal en el campo de la lingüística. Junto a él, otros destacados estudiosos son Mijaíl Bajtín (1979), Hjelmslev (1967) y, más recientemente, Metzt (2002) y Torop (2002). En este estudio, además de las referencias anteriores, añadimos, debido a su relevancia, la investigación de Zavala (2005, 2006, 2009) en la traducción de la literatura al cine, a partir de la cual incluímos la del cine al cine audiodescrito.
Con este enfoque teórico, intentamos demostrar que, a pesar de transmitirse en dos canales diferentes y, en este caso, también en épocas distintas, como es la obra literaria, la serie de televisión y la serie audiodescrita, las características de El Quijote de Cervantes son muy similares.

Translation between semiotic systems, also known as intersemiotic translation, has Jakobson (1979) as its pioneering researcher in the feld of linguistics. Together with him, other noteworthy scholars necessary for the discipline’s application are Mijaíl Bajtín (1979), Hjelmslev (1967) and, more recently, Metzt (2002) and Torop (2002). In our study, besides the foregoing references, we begin, due to its relevance, with the research of Zavala (2005, 2006, 2009) into translation from literature to cinema. Finally we add the analysis of the intersemiotic translation from cinema into audio description.
Moving from this theoretical approach, in this study we seek to demonstrate that despite being transmitted in two different channels, which in this case are well apart in time, as are the literary work, the television series and series with audio description, the characteristics of quixote are very similar
