The antecedent history is well known, however répétable1. Napoleon's armies invaded the Iberian Peninsula; the soldiers of Portugal, and the military of this tiny country, the mountains, the rain, nonexistent roads, food difficulties if all this would impose a delay Junot. Still, the marshal arrives in Lisbon for May 1808. The sails of the Portuguese ships were already visible far over the Atlantic: 27 May Queen Maria I (called La Folle Queen) and his entire Court embarked on his kingdoms d'Outre Mer.

A história antecedente é bem conhecido, no entanto répétable1. Os exércitos de Napoleão invadiram a Península Ibérica; os soldados de Portugal, e os militares deste pequeno país, as montanhas, a chuva, estradas inexistentes, dificuldades alimentares se tudo isso imporia um atraso Junot. Ainda assim, o marechal chega a Lisboa para Maio de 1808. As velas dos navios portugueses já eram visíveis muito sobre o Atlântico: 27 de maio Rainha Maria I (chamado La Folle Queen) e toda sua corte embarcou em seus reinos d'Outre Mer.
