En el presente trabajo los autores revisan las medidas de emergencia que se deben tomar ante un caso de dilatación aguda de estómago, con o sin torsión, antes de entrar al quirófano para su resolución quirúrgica. Estas medidas pueden aumentar el porcentaje de éxitos clínicos hasta cifras por encima de un 75 % de éxitos. * In this paper, the authors review the management of gastric dilatation in the dog, with or without torsion, before entering the surgery room for definitive resolution. The emergency care, properly done, may increase the survival rate to near 75% success.
