    La laparoscopia, aún a pesar de sus limitaciones, ofrece excelentes oportunidades al clínico en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de determinadas enfermedades. A pesar de estar generalizado su uso en la medicina humana y de su empleo cada vez más extensivo en determinados campos de la medicina veterinaria, ciertas limitaciones no favorecen un uso más frecuente. En la medicina de aves, por razones de tipo fisiológico y anatómico, se convierte en una herramienta de trabajo casi elemental y su realización resulta de más fácil aplicación. En el presente trabajo el autor resume la información adquirida mediante la realización de más de 300 procedimientos laparoscópicos en aves domésticas y salvajes (de 20 géneros diferentes), entre los que se incluyeron sexajes, biopsias y exploraciones, con o sin toma de muestras. Asimismo, se aporta material fotográfico que facilitará a los lectores la familiarización con los citados procedimientos en las aves. * Laparoscopy, despite its limitations, offers the clinician excellent opportunities in the diagnosis and treatment of some pathologies. Although in humane medicine it is extensively used, some limitations make a diference in veterinary medicine. In avian medicine, for physiological and anatomical reasons, it is a key tool and its perfomance is easier. In this paper, the author summarizes all the information adquired during more than 300 laparoscopy procedures performed in wild and domestic birds, including sexing, biopsies and explorations with and without sampling. Altogether photografic material is presented to help the readers in the understanding of these techniques.
