  • The study is inspired by the episode of Jesus at the home of Martha and Mary of Bethany (Luke 10, 38-42) and aims to show that the reading of the evangelical pericope offered by traditional Orthodox theology has been fundamentally important for the understanding of the Orthodox silence on the possibility of a female role within the Church; an age-old silence that not even the numerous occasions of debate in the ecumenical context have been able to shatter
