  • The article discusses efforts to facilitate action on the social determinants of health among public health departments in order to advance and achieve health equity in the U.S. Topics include the need for flexible and sustained funding in order to facilitate work on social determinants of health among public health departments, and the lack of available research on the cost effectiveness associated with interventions targeting the social determinants of health.
