The article explores expedited partner therapy (EPT) as an underused practice to address the high rates of sexually transmitted inflections (STIs) in the U.S. Particular focus is given to continued increases in the rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. Additional topics including the health effects of diagnosed STIs, the economic burdens of STIs and methods for implementing EPT in the U.S.
