  • The article presents public health and medical news briefs as of November 2017. Research indicates that individual spending in the last three years of life accounted for 24.5 percent of overall health care costs. A study in Japan found that a standard health checkup questionnaire failed to predict new-onset metabolic syndrome or hypertension in elderly patients. Studies found a decline in Shona Symptom Questionnaire score in mental health disorder patients receiving problem-solving therapy.
