An editorial is presented in which the author reflects on health equity as a choice and an effort to eliminate health disparities in places such as the U.S. as of 2017. According to the World Health Organization, there has been a more than 50 percent reduction in under-five child mortality around the globe since the year 2000. Sustainable Development Goals and preventable deaths of infants and children are examined, along with strategic investments in public health in places such as America.
