  • The article discusses the American Public Health Association's decision to declare 2017 the Year of Climate Change and Health, and it mentions the impact of climate change on the health of Americans, as well as the social determinants of health such as poverty and access to health care. Excerpts from articles in the January 1983 and November 2007 issues of the journal, which deal with the public health policies of then-U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, are provided.
