  • The author discusses the expansion of the dental workforce in an effort to improve access to dental care and reduce oral health disparities in the U.S. Topics include the limited number of dentists that accept new Medicaid patients in most states, limited dental benefits included in the Medicare program, and efforts to improve access to dental care by strengthening the oral health workforce despite the American Dental Association's belief that there are enough dentists in the U.S.
