    En este artículo se analiza, a partir de distintos textos de Javier Marías, la historia del reino de Redonda: un «reino junto al mar» a la vez real y ficticio con más de una lengua pero sin súbditos, una dinastía literaria que no se transmite por la sangre y cuyo rey sin soberanía no es otro, actualmente, que el propio Marías.

    This paper presents an analysis, based on different texts by Javier Marías, of the history of the Kingdom of Redonda: a «kingdom bythe sea», both real and fictitious, with more than one language but without subjects; a literary dynasty that is not transmitted by blood and whose king without sovereignty is no other, at present, than the very Marías himself.
