    La Ciencia de la acción motriz ha crecido mucho, por cierto bastante más rápido que lo que los más escépticos habían previsto hace apenas una década. Sus conocimientos irremediablemente seguirán incrementándose acorde a la gran divulgación de las prácticas físicas y deportivas, al enorme volumen de practicantes y a la exigencia social de que la actividad del practicante sea estudiada de una manera rigurosa y útil.

    El objetivo de este artículo va encaminado a descubrir cómo se organizan los conocimientos de la Ciencia de la acción motriz (Praxiología motriz) considerando criterios internos, es decir, referidos a la forma de ordenar la acumulación y el alcance de esos conocimientos. Estos criterios establecidos según un continuo son: el grado de abstracción de los conocimientos, su grado de exclusividad y su grado de aplicabilidad. El saber cómo está organizada esta ciencia es ventajoso en la medida en que nos facilita reconocer:

    . Qué características tienen los conocimientos científicos de las prácticas físicas y deportivas y de la actividad de los practicantes.

    . Cuánto progresa y en qué dirección avanza el conocimiento de la acción motriz y dónde hay puntos bloqueados.

    . Cuáles son las predilecciones de los investigadores de la acción motriz y cuáles son sus carencias.

    The Science of motor action has grown enormously, much more than any of its detractors could have foreseen over scarcely a decade ago. The knowledge in the field will continue to grow relentlessly as physical practices and sports become more and more widespread, thanks to the enormous volume of people who do sports and to the social demand, therefore, that the practice of said sports be studied with due rigour in order to improve its value.

    The aim of this article is to analyse how the knowledge of the Science of motor action (Motor Praxiology) is structured by looking at its internal coherence: that is, the way it organizes the knowledge accumulated and the scope of said knowledge. The criteria have been established along a continuum: the degree of abstraction of the knowledge, the degree of exclusivity and the degree of applicability. If we know how the science is organised, we will be in a situation which will allow us to detect:

    . What are the defining characteristics of scientific knowledge with respect to physical practices and sports, and the activities carried out by the people who practise any such activity.

    . How much we have progressed and in which directions in the field of motor actions and what are the ‘blind spots’ in the field.

    . What do the researchers in the field of motor activity tend to research more and where are the gaps in the information that should be covered.
