    Los casos de justicia por mano propia en Colombia han sido noticia en los últimos años y tienen el potencial de convertirse en una problemática social considerable. ¿Por qué una persona normal puede llegar a considerar que la solución a un delito es cometer otro? Este artículo pretende mostrar que la elevada percepción de impunidad y la desconfianza en las instituciones conducen a los ciudadanos al hastío, la frustración y, finalmente, a la ira, sentimiento que desencadenaría este tipo de reacciones; y propone que una posibilidad para romper esta espiral de violencia es tratar de enfocar esa ira en la búsqueda de soluciones integrales en lugar de enfocarla en la satisfacción de un deseo de retribución individual

    Vigilante justice in Colombia has been considered in the news in recent years and has the potential to become a considerable social issue. Why a normal person would consider that the answer to a crime is to commit another crime? This article wants to explain that the high impunity perception and the distrust in institutions lead the citizens to weariness, frustration and, finally, anger, emotion that triggers that kind of reactions; and propose that a viable way to interrupt this spiral of violence is to try to focus that anger in the pursuit of integral solutions instead of focussing it in the satisfaction of a desire of personal retribution.
