Resumen de Santos guerreros y "guerreros santos" en la lucha contra el Islam en los reinos ibéricos

Este artículo estudia dos tipos de cuestiones. En primer lugar, examina el papel de los santos como guerreros o asesores de los reyes y algunos héroes en la lucha contra los musulmanes hispanos de Castilla, León, la Corona de Aragón y Portugal. Analiza su relación con la ideología del poder regio, el carácter de cruzada otorgado a la conquista, y la construcción de la identidad de los distintos reinos y territorios. En segundo lugar, aborda la fama de santidad de algunos protagonistas de la conquista y sus vínculos con las transformaciones en la imagen del poder y la expansión portuguesa en África durante los siglos XIV y XV.

This article studies two types of issues: first, the role of the saints as warriors or advisers of the kings and some heroes in the fight against hispanic muslims in Castile, León, the crown of Aragón and Portugal. It analyzes their relationship with the ideology of royal power, the idea of crusade, and the identity of the different kingdoms and territories. In the second place, it discuss the reputation of sainctity of some chiefs of the conquest, closely bond to the changes in the image of power and the portuguese expansion in África during the XIVth and XVth centuries.
