    Se realiza un estudio sobre 52 pacientes epilépticos, en los cuales se analizan las siguientes variables: localización de la enfermedad, edad, sexo, tipo de dieta, nivel de higiene, características clínicas del sobrecrecimiento, así como de respiración bucal.

    Así mismo se determinaron los niveles de vitamina B12 en plasma, y se relacionaron con el sobrecrecimiento, aunque no se hallaron resultados significativos. Los folatos séricos, los cuales disminuyen en la medicación antiepiléptica, también fueron medidos, estando cerca de la significación su relación con el sobrecrecimiento gingival hidantoínico.

    In this article we carry out a study on 52 patients in order to study the following facts: the localization of the illness, age, sex, type of diet, level of hygiene, clinical characteristics of this enlargement as well as the type of buccal respiration.

    In the same way the levels of vitamine B12 in the plasma were determined and were related to the enlargement although we didn't find significative results.

    The folates in the serum decrease in the medical treatment of the epilepsis, were also measured being near the significance its relation with the hidantoin gingival enlargement.
