    Este trabajo trata de la ordenación y catalogación parcial de un fondo documental inédito, compuesto por una colección de distintos manuscritos, estadillos, cartas y mapas pertenecientes al Brigadeiro D. António Luis Marçal Cary, comandante de los reales ejércitos portugueses, quien vivió a finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX, abarcando la Guerra de las Naranjas y la Guerra de la Independencia. En él se recoge parte de su carrera profesional y aspectos de su vida personal, conservándose actualmente en el Archivo Histórico Municipal de Olivenza (AHMO).

    El objetivo no es otro que dar a conocer a este personaje y el conjunto documental que ha llegado hasta nosotros.

    The purpose of this work is to order and catalogue unpublished documents from a historical source. The documents include a collection of manuscripts, tables, letters and maps relating to Brigadier D. António Luis Marçal Cary. He was commander of the Portuguese royal army, and lived at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th. The catalogue manuscripts are related to the War of the Oranges and the War of Independence. The documentation relates to his professional career and aspects of his personal life. It is held in the Municipal Historical Archive of Olivenza (AHMO).

    The aim of this work is firstly to highlight the life and deeds of the Brigadier, and secondly to draw attention to the collection of historic documents that are available to us.
