Resumen de En torno a la obra poética inédita de Timoteo Pérez Rubio

  Timoteo Pérez Rubio ha sido siempre recordado, además de por su valiosa obra pictórica, por llevar a cabo la gloriosa labor de salvamento de las obras del Museo del Prado de Madrid y de otras colecciones públicas y privadas durante la Guerra Civil. Pese a todo, esta loable empresa condenará al pintor extremeño a pasar el resto de su vida exiliado en Brasil. La guerra supone, por tanto, un punto de inflexión que marcará un antes y un después en la trayectoria artística de Pérez Rubio; pues, a partir de este momento y pese a la desaprobación de su mujer, Rosa Chacel, el pintor extremeño comenzará a cultivar la poesía. Los textos de Timoteo no salieron a la luz en vida del autor, sino que, como veremos, fue Chacel la encargada de dar a conocer esa faceta poética de su marido en sus obras. En consecuencia, el presente trabajo pretende establecer un acercamiento a esos textos aún inéditos de Pérez Rubio, así como a los móviles que llevarían al pintor a dedicarse a la escritura

  Timoteo Pérez Rubio has always been remembered, in addition to his valuable pictorial work, to carry out the glorious work of salvaging the works of the Prado Museum in Madrid and other public and private collections during the Civil War. Nevertheless, this praiseworthy enterprise will condemn the painter from Extremadura to spend the rest of his life in exile in Brazil. The war is, therefore, a turning point that will mark a before and after in the artistic career of Pérez Rubio; since, from this moment on and despite the disapproval of his wife, Rosa Chacel, the painter from Extremadura began to cultivate poetry.

  Timoteo’s texts did not come to light in the life of the author, but, as will be seen, Chacel was responsible for making known that poetic facet of her husband in his works. Consequently, the present work tries to establish an approach to those still unpublished texts of Pérez Rubio, as well as to the movable ones that would take to the painter to dedicate itself to the writing
