  • The article investigates the theory that killer whales are splitting into several different species. Topics discussed include the physical, cultural and genetic differences among killer whales that support the theory that the species are going their separate evolutionary ways, the cultural differences cited as the most prominent factor that determine killer whales' mate selection and the implication of the theory for the future survival of killer whales.
