  • The author analyzes U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's comments about issues related to science and how these comments demonstrate his disregard for the importance of science and science literacy. Topics discussed include Trump's assertion that the concept of global warming is a hoax perpetrated by the Chinese to diminish the competitiveness of U.S. manufacturing, his allegations that vaccinations cause autism in children and his views on the Ebola outbreak.
