    Los cultivos de camarones marinos en América, han sido afectados por diversos agentes patógenos. Dichos brotes han sido causados principalmente por diferentes especies de virus, bacterias, hongos y protozoarios. Durante los últimos años, se ha incrementado la incidencia de infecciones que lesionan el hepatopáncreas de los camarones, atacando en diferentes etapas de desarrollo de los cultivos y con diferentes grados y tipos de afectación. Ante ello, el análisis histopatológico del estado de salud de los camarones cobra gran relevancia. La aparición de nuevas especies y sus posibles similitudes lesionales, nos exige constantes actualizaciones y comparaciones para el reconocimiento de sus efectos citopáticos. Este trabajo presenta un resumen sobre las lesiones causadas por diversos agentes hepatotrópicos que han sido reportados en cultivos de camarón marino en América.

    Shrimp farming in the Americas has been affected by outbreaks of several pathogens. These outbreaks have been caused mainly by different species of viruses and bacteria, and to a lesser degree by fungi and parasites. During the last years, it has increased the incidence of infections that damage the shrimp hepatopancreas, attacked at different stages of development of the crops and with different degrees and types of severity. In response, Histopathological analysis of the health status of the shrimp acquires great relevance. The appearance of new species and its possible similar injuries requires constant updates and comparisons for the recognition of their cytopathic effects. This paper presents a not exhaustive summary of injuries caused by various agents affecting the hepatopancreas which have been reported in marine shrimp farming in the Americas.
