  • The article reports that the National Research Council of Canada is constructing the reconfigurable Cabin Comfort and Environment Research facility that is capable of simulating hours-long air travel. Topics discussed include the efforts of airplane manufacturers and airliners in improving cabin designs and the challenge of testing new designs at 40,000 feet. The modular design of the cabin and the tendency for passengers to bring with them large carry-on bags are mentioned.
