  • The article reports that structural biologist Perrin Baker of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario and colleague Lynne Howell are working on a research aimed at improving the effectiveness of antibiotics by eliminating structures that protect pathogenic bacteria. Topics discussed include the slimy aggregates developed by bacteria that serves as a biofilm against antibiotics and the investigation into the enzymes produced by the Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria.
