Resumen de "Sheng-Ren", o el Santo en los textos taoístas Análisis de cuatro traducciones españolas de "Daode Jing"

figura del santo representa el ideal superior de la personalidad en el pensamiento chino antiguo, y es uno de los temas más importantes de Daode jing, el clásico texto del taoísmo filosófico. Sin embargo, Daode jing contiene alguna confusión de ideas porque se expresa a través de la paradoja y por la dificultad que implica leer dicho texto en traducciones españolas. Así pues, cotejar las traducciones de los textos referidos a la figura del santo nos ayuda a interpretar su vocabulario, mientras que la posibilidad de leer varias traducciones de los mismos capítulos nos permite desarrollar una explicación personal sobre el santo. Este trabajo intentará concentrarse en la pregunta “cómo llegar a ser santo” para desviarnos hacia significados más profundos a través del análisis de las versiones de cuatro traductores españoles.

The figure of saint represents the superior ideal of the personality in the Chinese ancient thought, and it is one of the most important themes of Daode jing, the classic text of philosophical taoism. However, Daode jing contains some confusion in ideas because it is expressed through the paradox and by the difficulty involved in relating these texts in Spanish translations. Thus, comparing the translations of the texts referring to the figure of the saint helps us to interpret their vocabulary, while the possibility of reading several translations of the same chapters inspires us to develop a personal explanation about the saint. This work will try to concentrate on the question “how to become a saint” to deviate towards other deeper meanings through the analysis of the different versions of four Spanish translators.
