Resumen de Análisis del voto a Coalición Canaria: ¿Nacionalismo, insularismo o clientelismo?

Este artículo se centrará en el perfil del votante del principal partido nacionalista de las Islas Canarias, Coalición Canaria, indagando sobre los principales condicionantes que pueden estar detrás del voto de esta formación. Para llevarlo a cabo, se intentará contestar a las siguientes preguntas: ¿Es Coalición Canaria un partido nacionalista? ¿Las variables comunes que se han utilizado para explicar el voto a partidos nacionalistas se sostienen en el caso de Coalición Canarias? o ¿el voto a Coalición Canaria se explica por las conexiones entre el partido y el asociacionismo rural? El marco teórico permitirá advertir las lógicas del comportamiento electoral a partidos nacionalistas con el objeto de formular hipótesis sobre el electorado nacionalista canario. De forma paralela, planteamos una serie de hipótesis alternativas o de control que ayuden a añadir más evidencias a la investigación ¿Qué efecto desempeña la identificación a la isla en el oto a Coalición Canaria? Estas preguntar nos acercarán a dos realidades poco estudiadas en la ciencia Política Española: analizar al principal partido nacionalista en las Islas Canarias y, de forma más innovadora, aproximarnos al efecto que ejerce el fenómeno insular en el voto a Coalición Canaria.

This article will focus on the profile of the voter of the main regionalist party of The Canary Islands, Canary Coalition, inquiring about the main factors that may be behind the vote for this formation. To carry ir out, we will try to answer the following questions: Is the Canary Coalition a nationalism party? Are the common variables that have been used to explain the vote to nationalism parties are supported in the case of the Canary Coalition? Or is the vote for the Canary Coalition explained by the connections between the party and rural associations? We will present a theoretical framework that brings us closer to the logics of electoral behavior to nationalist parties with the aim of formulating hypothese about the Canarian nationalist electorate. In parallel, we propose a series of alernative hypotheses or control to help add more evidence to the investigacion. What effect does the identificaction on the island have on the vote to the Canary Coalition? These questions will bring us closer to two realities little studiedin Spanish Political Science: analyze the main nationalist part in the Canary Island and, in a more innovative way, approach the effect that the insular phenomenon exerts on the vote to the Canary Coalition.
