  • The article discusses some developments in tiger monitoring. Topics covered include the increase in tiger conservation initiatives launched worldwide, the continuing decline in tiger populations in Asia, and the use of a combination of camera-trap technology, software and sophisticated statistical analyses in estimating tiger populations. Also mentioned is a habitat-occupancy survey of tiger signs across Malenad, India.
