Los significados de salud y enfermedad se constituyen de acuerdo con las particularidades del contexto social, cultural e histórico. Se pudo observar en Cabrera (Nariño-Colombia) que la salud y los criterios de normalidad y patología no son excluyentes, establecen una integración de su “estar bien” sumando el componente espiritual y participación comunitaria. Es claro que no fragmentan el estado de bienestar de una persona como se tiene acostumbrado desde el modelo biomédico: la salud física, lo orgánico, al médico; y la salud psicológica al psiquiatra.

The meanings of health and illness are constituted according to the particularities of the social, cultural and historical context. It was observed in Cabrera (Nariño-Colombia) that health and the criteria of normality and pathology are not exclusive, establish an integration of their "being well" by adding the spiritual component and community participation.
