    El hidalgo castellano Pero Tafur (1410-1487), deseoso de conocer mundo y vivir aventuras, realizó un largo viaje (1436-1439). En este trabajo, analizamos el viaje que realizó por diversas ciudades de Alemania, Bohemia, Polonia, Hungría y Austria durante los meses de noviembre de 1438 a enero de 1439. El relato de Tafur, permite al lector adquirir un conocimiento, basado en la observación directa, de las tierras recorridas, de su organización política, social y económica. Por otra parte, lo pone en contacto con los más altos dignatarios de la Cristiandad del momento, pues Tafur visita al emperador, y a diversos reyes, nobles y dignidades eclesiásticas, es bien recibido por todos ellos y es invitado a las fiestas cortesanas; pero también describe las costumbres y la vida cotidiana de los habitantes de las ciudades.

    The Castilian nobleman Pedro Tafur (1410-1487), eager to see the world and to live adventures, made a long journey (1436-1439). In this paper, we analyze the trip he made for several cities in Germany, Bohemia, Poland, Hungary and Austria during the months of November 1438 to January 1439. Tafur's story allows the reader to get a knowledge based on direct observation of the traversed land, of its political, social and economic organization. Moreover, the journey favors Tafur's contact with the highest dignitaries of Christianity at the time, because he visit to the Emperor and various kings, nobles and church dignitaries; Tafur is well received by all and is invited to the court festivities; but also he describes the customs and daily life of the inhabitants of cities.
