El Metadiscurso Interaccional en Tesis Doctorales en Educación

    El metadiscurso es un importante mecanismo lingüístico usado para establecer relaciones interpersonales entre el autor y el lector de un texto académico y para la expresión identitaria del primero como representante de un género discursivo determinado. Usando el modelo de Hyland, se analizaron 10 tesis doctorales venezolanas en educación y otras tantas españolas para describir la frecuencia de uso de marcadores metadiscursivos y cómo se utilizan en las tesis. Los resultados, similares en ambos grupos, señalan una diferencia significativa en la frecuencia de marcadores enfatizadores en desmedro de los mitigadores. En los marcadores de automención sobresale la ausencia de uso de la primera persona en singular, predominando las marcas de la primera persona en plural y tercera persona en singular. Estos resultados indican la adscripción de las tesis a un discurso académico positivista a pesar de su naturaleza cualitativa. Recomendamos un acercamiento a la prosa subjetiva del discurso naturalista interpretativo.

    The metadiscourse is an important linguistic mechanism used to establish interpersonal relations between the author and the reader of an academic text, and for the identity expression of the first as representative of a given discursive genre. Using Hyland’s model, 10 Venezuelan doctoral theses in education and 10 other Spanish ones were analyzed to describe the frequency of use of metadiscursive markers and how they are used in theses. Results, similar in both groups, indicate a significant difference in the frequency of emphasizing markers to the detriment of the relievers. In the markers of automention stands out the absence of use of the first person in singular, predominating the markers of the first person in t plural and in the third person in singular. As a conclusion, these results indicate the attachment of the Venezuelan and Spanish theses to a positivist academic discourse despite the qualitative nature of the studies. We, therefore recommend an approach to the subjective prose of an interpretive naturalistic discourse.
