La prueba rotatoria, está descrita desde el siglo pasado debido a unos hallazgos evidenciados por el Dr. Robert Bárány. Las pruebas más utilizadas son la Prueba Impulsiva y la Prueba Rotatoria Sinusoidal. Método: Realizamos esta revisión para intentar resumir las bases fisiopatológicas que subyacen al uso del sillón rotatorio, realizar un manual de uso y de interpretación de la prueba. Resultados y conclusiones: La prueba rotatoria nos es de gran utilidad en pacientes con hipofunción vestibular bilateral, en aquellos en los que no podemos realizar estudio calórico, para valoración de la compensación vestibular y para el diagnóstico de patologías centrales

The rotatory test has been described since the last century due to some findings evidenced by Dr. Robert Bárány. The most used tests are the Impulsive Test and the Sinusoidal Rotary Test. Method: We performed this review to try to summarize the pathophysiological bases that underlie the use of the rotary chair, make a handbook of use and interpretation of the test. Results and conclusions: The rotatory test is very useful in patients with bilateral vestibular hypofunction, in people we can not perform caloric study, for evaluation of the vestibular compensation and for the diagnosis of central pathologies
