  • Resumen
    • The article discusses the use of microwaves to power the ascent of rockets. The idea was first conceived in the early 20th century by Russian scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, who proposed the use of microwaves to heat propellant and reduce the need for onboard fuel. Technological developments such as the invention of microwave lasers (masers) and the generators known as gyrotrons have helped 21st-century scientists such as Kevin Parkin continue to refine the concept. Details on a launch system created by the firm Escape Dynamics are presented.
