  • The article focuses on the European Union big science Human Brain Project (HBP) and problems it is facing. It states the HBP was conceived by professor Henry Markram to craft a mathematical brain model simulating the entire brain and mentions that a lack of transparency and managerial problems have resulted in a massive overhaul of the HBP. It contrasts HBP with the Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) initiative in the U.S. and its outreach to neuroscientists.
