The article discusses the inclusion of visual literacy questions in the standardized college admissions test known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The March 2016 version of the test will include graphics such as tables, charts, and graphs in its reading, writing, and language sections as well as the mathematics section. According to Jim Patterson, an executive director at the SAT publisher the College Board, visual literacy skills are key for success in college and careers.
