  • Resumen
    • The article argues that the use of non-viable embryos in human germ line modification research should not be banned. It comments on research by Chinese scientists using CRISPR on early-stage non-viable embryos to try and repair a mutation in a gene responsible for beta thalassemia and talks about calls to ban future research. It considers the benefits of using early-stage, nonviable embryos to find treatments to prevent genetic disorders like muscular dystrophy and Huntington's disease.
