  • Resumen
    • The article gives an overview of the evolution of the legislation from seventeen Eastern European countries on the interruption of pregnancy and on the criminal laws on abortion. The critical analysis of the norms analyzed in their historical evolution is used to reconstruct the demographic politics of the countries taken in examination that turn abortion into a family-planning and birth-control tool. Nowadays, this choice characterizes the sovereign policies and affects the self-determination of women in the management of their bodies and their fertility. The procreation choices are used as a tool for repopulating the territory, enhancing the autochthonous component in order to combat emigration and the development of a multi-ethnic, multicultural and multi-religious society
