The hypothesis, put forward by Eugenio La Rocca in this same volume, of the presence of the Arcus Parthicus of Trajan in the area immediately to N of the Trajan’s Column seems to be confirmed by the medieval tradition. In fact, in the area are cited from historical sources and archives, the Arch of the Foschi di Berta (in reality cannot be precisely positioned), and an Arcus Traiani Imperatoris that would be exactly in correspondence with the structures found in the recent excavations of the subsoil of Palazzo Valentini, now of the Provincia or Città Metropolitana di Roma.
