    • The article discusses a study on the optimism in the last statements, or words, of Texas prisoners given before there execution, which was conducted by psychologists Sarah Hirschmüller and Boris Egloff and published in the journal "Frontiers in Psychology" during January 2016. An overview of the roles that terror management theory (TMT) and emotional priority theory (EPT) play in prisoners' psychology before death, including in regard to their words of forgiveness and love, is provided.
